This error correction worksheet is written from my common mistakes corpus that is constituted within years of teaching English. They are typical mistakes that are made when forming the present simple tense.
Generally speaking, most of the mistakes are made with a translation approach to English. Students want to find equivalent structures within the target language. They want to apply their own language’s rules to the target language. Hence mistakes happen. When you give out this sentence, you’ll see that your students are asking whether there are any mistakes in sentences or not. They’ll just look fine to them. This worksheet can be an excellent opportunity to help students realise mistakes in a present simple sentence.
