Past Simple Reading Text

Here's a reading text to accompany your grammar lesson on the simple past tense. It's a one-page handout about the activities that happened on a summer holiday in Nice in France. As the passage describes completed events, it uses simple past tense appropriately in context. Before using this EFL reading material in your lesson, you may want to teach “bric-a-brac”, knick-knack, as a new word which is shown as a picture on the worksheet.

The past simple reading text is followed by a set of true/false questions. You can have look at the questions here and assess whether it is suitable for your EFL classes.

A QR code answer key for your homework assignments and a smart answer key with short explanations for the answers are included.
